You know how majority of humans meow at cats when they meow at you (myself included), what if someone meowed at Spock one day and he just stands there like they've insulted his linege?

re: fandom "wokesters", imo fandom has a lot of people in it who want to look cool to other fans, and who think putting down racism will make them cool, buuuut they don't want to risk having to actually confront real, violent, angry racists, so instead they tell me I'm racist bc a Black character in my fic plays basketball or they yell "not all Muslims wear headscarves you racist" at Muslim writers whose OCs do, etc. in order to earn respect amongst their peers. It's 100% performance.

Performance and guilt.
Don’t underestimate how much of this is due to a poisonous culture of guilt where people feel far too much personal guilt over the state of the world and sit around spinning their wheels over everything being insurmountably awful. I Have Privilege And Thus Am Bad Forever, etc. etc.
That guilt is fetishized and treated as a sign of moral worth.
Meanwhile, all effective political action is ignored in favor of bandaids that can be applied online: idiotic slacktivism in place of any real understanding of the issues or any real outlay of labor or cash.
