For Star Trek Beyond, I ask that Uhura and Spock are not together but remain very close friends, that Uhura stands as a strong character, not just the romantic interest. I request more people of color, of different shapes and sizes. And not just the hot alien babe version of diversity, because that’s cliche and also sexist. I demand there be more than just heterosexual people. Let other non-binary genders be shown! Let Jim Kirk’s compassion be the theme, rather than his recklessness. I ask that the story contain a moral or philosophical dilemma that the crew must face, and that perhaps relates to a struggle in today’s world. I ask for more Bones McCoy. I ask for a Carol Marcus who never dates Kirk, because she does not need a man in her life, and not every woman joins the Enterprise to find romance. My final request, and this is an absolute necessity: 

I demand that there be a (consensual) mind-meld between Spock and Kirk.
