Okay so I have literally a few hundred words of quick notes from seeing Beyond the second time, but there is one thing that is really stuck in my mind.
In DS9, Sisko has to vouch for Nog so he can join Starfleet as he is Ferengi and Ferenginar is not a part of the Federation. It’s made out ot be a pretty big todo for him to be writing a letter of recommendation for Nog.
I feel like it’s pretty safe to assume that the little Teenaxi’s at the beginning of Beyond are not part of the Federation.
So who vouched for Kevin? Was it Jim? Did Jim, actually sit down with one of these tiny aliens that attacked him and listen to their reasons for wanting to join Starfleet?
How did Kevin even come to the conclusion of joining Starfleet?
Are pants not part of Starfleet dresscode?????
