i like the idea that Spock isn't even aware that he does this and he only notices when his parents come on board he suddenly realizes how often he stands closer than necessary to kirk how often he is tempted to brush their shoulders together or the backs of their hands and he quietly freaks out because hoLY SHIT THAT IS ILLOGICAL
