stid has a lot of problems but i think they at least started getting their relationship right other people have pointed out but i feel it bears repeating kirk is pissed at spock leading into this scene he's frustrated and hurt and has just been demoted and the enterprise taken from him but they end their confrontation with kirk telling spock he'll miss him and then they start getting briefed on the attack in london and spock is 100% focused on kirk because he trusts kirk he knows that kirk has incredible intuition and he notices immediately that kirk sees that something doesnt' quite add up and kirk looks at spock because he's already used to spock having his back (and really that's part of why he was so angry he was hurt that spock didn't have his back with what went down on nibiru) (from his perspective at least) this moment is so brief but it says so much and i'm really glad they included it
