So, originally, I was just doodling an AU where Surak either died prematurely or never existed, and without his teachings, Vulcans were never dictated by logic but were allowed express themselves and eat meat, and were just as passion driven as their ancestors. They did evolve from cat-apes, so I figured they probably had MONSTEROUS teeth, and I really wanted to depict that.
Somewhere along the line, though, it became a small unreformed spirk comic.

Okay, I know this is like a really intense and serious “holy shit we’re all about to die” moment in the movie but every time it comes to this part my immediate reaction is just, “This is the cutest way to sit holy shit Jam you are so fuggin’ cute I can’t.” <333333
And then my brain goes into sad depressing meta mode and is like woah hey what if he’s trying to make himself as small as possible during moments of stress as some kind of carryover instinct from Tarsus where he only survived by being small and sneaky and hiding in the rubble like wow wtf is wrong with you laura good job making this already depressing moment even MORE depressing like wow congratulation.
