You are so frolicsome and fearless that I almost forgot you have suffered a lot.
One reason I always love Jim in STXI most is that he has such a kind of strange sense of humour only the youth own. He’s young at that time of course but I don’t think it’s the reason why he seems like that. He’s never too young to be afraid of the danger of the universe or too ignorant to take seriously of the unkindness of boundless space; instead he knows what reality is, knows pure evil, knows fear, knows cowardice. Then he just chooses to abandon them all. He chooses to confront with the whole world always frolicsomely and fearlessly (just like choosing a fucking big television). And that’s the kind of courage only the adult own and why his strange sense of humour remains.
