So I was reading about modern librarian stereotypes and I thought of that TAS episode where Kirk mentions he thought about being a librarian, and... punk!publiclibrarian! Kirk. A sleeve of bookish tattoos. Teenagers asking him for book recommendations. Actively working to highlight diverse books. Setting up board game nights and D&D groups. Getting super excited over Banned Books Week and lecturing anyone who will listen about the dangers of banning books.

imagine-jim-bones-and-spock Answer:

imagine jim constantly traveling and picking up new books to donate to his library

he’s read everything about everything so kids are always asking for help with reports

he does a ‘story time’ every friday night for the little kids, and acts out the characters with big dramatic voices

the kids love it

kirk librarian!au omg so here for this

what if after long periods of overworking himself, Jim Kirk starts falling asleep all over the place

  • under McCoy’s desk
  • in his dinner
  • next to Spock’s mediation fire
  • in the greenhouse
  • in his captain’s chair

each time resulting in Spock picking him up and hauling him to bed (while Jim complains and mumbles all the way) and Bones preparing yet another lecture on How Not to be an Idiot

What if Spock and Kirk, as couple, were featured in a fashion magazine, I guess.

I doubt Spock would ever agree to a fashion magazine photoshoot and, even if he - clearly under heavy intoxicants and pressed by a very persuasive Jim - would ever accept, Starfleet would never allow their golden captain to pose naked. Oh, well. :D
The jacket the model is wearing has this “futuristic” feeling that makes it a good base for a Star Trek manip though.

Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip)
I don’t really have something to say about this. This (and its companion) is some kind of sub-product of a manip I was doing for the 2.5 verse: I had found many Pine heads that worked for the manip and felt I could use one to make a Reboot version.
2.5 version coming as soon as I decide to fix the one shot I wrote to go with it.

person: are you okay?

me, internally: sometimes i have to wonder if the people who call aos jim kirk ooc actually understand either of the characters at all. yes, they act like different people but that doesn't mean that they're fundamentally different. jim kirk, at his core, is determined, fearless, a little selfish sometimes but a whole lot selfless most of the time, and would give up absolutely anything for the things he cares about. in aos, that's still there. that's still absolutely there and they make sure it is. the difference is in their childhood. which is when someone is forming their personality and who they're going to be as a person. they had radically different experiences that shaped them into what you see by the time you get to tos/aos. they cut out the scene that does well explaining exactly why aos jim is the way he is. before that, he was pretty well on his way to being like tos jim, at least from what we hear from sam's point of view. but aos jim's lost a lot of people. he doesn't have george around, and instead an asshole uncle who has a huge influence on his life. if tos jim were to have gone through that exact same childhood he would've ended up pretty much exactly where aos jim is, and that's the point. that's the whole point of aos. they aren't two different people, they're the same person with the same core attributes but who had two completely different upbringings that made them adapt differently. there's a reason that everyone else (excluding chekov which honestly i don't even understand what happened there) acts pretty much exactly like their tos counterparts while jim doesn't. it's not like the writers were completely ignorant.

me, externally: yeah i'm fine :)

SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS aos kirk
