OMS CHALLENGE PIC!!!!
I’m so excited to finally share this with you guys! This is for the OMS challenge, which I’m super proud to be a part of because I love Old Married Spirk and there is never enough of it, in my opinion. So the picture is set in the TMP era, and it is meant to capture a time early on in Jim and Spock’s reunion, where they’ve decided that yes, they’re always going to be together. I mean, that much is obvious by the happy, lovestruck expression on Jim’s face. And Spock wearing plaid? Well, it’s an old shirt of Jim’s, but it’s also a nod to the fabulous @plaidshirtjimkirk who inspired this piece before I ever heard of the OMS challenge, and who I strongly urge you to visit for your OMS needs. Also, I just really liked the idea of Spock wearing a big shirt and *cough* nothing else. Above all, I wanted to create an atmosphere in this drawing of two people who are very much in love and comfortable with each other, yet there’s a shy gentleness there. They’re both a little in awe of the t’hy’la bond, I think.
This picture was a struggle for me to stick with sometimes because I suffered a mini artist’s-block, my laptop malfunctioned, and I started college again. Not having regular internet access also slowed me down. But I made it through and I can honestly say that this drawing might be my favorite!
