After storming out of a particularly explosive argument with Sarek to book one-way passage to Earth, Spock knew he was putting himself in a financially dangerous position. That being said, he could not have anticipated becoming this desperate this quickly.
But as he stood flipping through the newspaper in his dismal pay-by-the-week apartment, mentally calculating how many days this week’s rent was already past due, he knew he had few options.
And after all, he did fit the bill.

I want to write a post about the t’hy’la concept, Kirk and Spock but now I realize that I don’t know enough about it.
I mean, can it be one-sided? If this bond is so rare (almost a myth) and so fulfilling, can someone who share this bond marry someone else? Is t’hy’la stronger than a marital or a familiar bond? If it means friend, brother and/or lover; that means a vulcan can have 2 bonds? One for t’hy’la and another for marriage?
I’m asking because I really have no idea, but if Jim is Spock’s t’hy’la it doesn’t make sense for me that he must marry another person if his katra (and his body too) searches for Jim. And correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Jim can also feel the bond even if he’s not telepath so it’s not only one-sided.
Can someone explain this to me? I can’t write (also… language barriers sucks)
The way I’ve come to conceptualize it, is that “t’hy’la” is someone with whom a vulcan would have an effortless mental harmony with. We’ve seen that mental bonds are crucially important to Vulcans’ health and wellbeing and I think it is a logical extrapolation that it would be easier to form bonds with some individuals than others. Just like we get along better with some people than others. ‘T’hy’la’ would be an individual with whom that bond formed almost without thought or intention, two (or more) individuals that just ‘click’ together.
SO Because i think of it that way, i think that an individual could be t’hy’la with more than one person, or with someone they were not romantically inclined towards, however I think it would be very likely for that sort of emotional and mental connection and intimacy to lead to the t’hy’la relationship to be one of, if not the most, significant bond in their life. Perhaps if a t’hy’la has passed away a vulcan might find another they would identify as t’hy’la, but i like to think that such connections are rare.
And we’ve seen that Vulcans’ telepathy can affect other non vulcans so i certainly think its possible jim (or other non vulcan t’hy’la) would be able to feel the bond.
But think about their first time OR one of their first times together, when Spock first gets his hands on jim, and he's enchanted by the differences in their bodies, so he just keeps touching him curiously, wanting to know everything about how he feels and tastes. And of course driving jim wild in the process. I love thinking about them exploring each others bodies and finding each other alien and fascinating and beautiful.
To me Spock would just be mostly silent and he’d slow down and take in everything Jim was in huge detail. He’d feel through the sensitivity of his fingertips what was right with his partner, feel every ripple of his movements, and hesitate before asking to continue in a soft voice. And Jim would watch him in reverence.
And Jim would be gentle, trying different amounts of pressure in his touch, different caresses, and he’d talk, comment on what he finds and ask and confirm all his touches with Spock.
“Is this alright?” “Do you like being touched like this?” “You look beautiful.” “Is that sensitive?”
I have so many thoughts about this and an entire list of first times that I want to write about them sharing~
Space husbands AU where Jim finds an old letter in a manual he picked up from the Starfleet archives for studying. it's written in Vulcan and it has an address on the front. He gets Uhura to translate the address and it turns out that it's really nearby. Even though he's able to hoverbike down and he could meet this person face to face, he decides to send it using snail mail, and he includes a letter of his own. Spock appreciates it's unopened and writes back to thank jim SPIRK SNAIL MAIL AU PLS

cont: Space husbands AU where Spock is an attendant for the comatose patients
ward in a hospital and the rest of the Enterprise crew are all in comas.
Spock thought it was going to be fine; everyone thought he was too
monotonous and he liked peace and quiet. Except for some reason he’s the
only person able to see the souls of his patients, and now he has to
deal with the constant ruckus of every single patient in the ward -
especially James Tiberius Kirk
(i hope you don’t mind me putting these together and answering them super late)
THESE AU’S ARE SO FUCKING GOOD!!! also how about a hospital au where spock is the one in a coma, but kirk is the nurse that takes care of him!! and kirk has to feed him and change his clothes and what not, but spock actually registers all of the touches telepathically even though he’s not conscious. and then finally when he wakes up, he feels something very strangely familiar about the nurse that comes in, who he’s never met before!
WHEW this is my first time ever painting stars in space (and planets too??)- it was actually pretty fun! i learned from this nifty tutorial here. and this is like my first ever proper ST fanart?
I drew this because I suddenly had some major star trek feels for some reason. And out of all my OTPs, in some ways, I think Spock/Kirk is the most romantic of them all in the idea of t’hy’la-the sense that you’re just utterly compatible not just physically but mentally, the way Spock and Kirk are such utter complements that save one another equally. The notion of having someone who utterly understands and knows you most intimately is something really attractive to me, admittedly! ^////^
And I’ve been on a bit of a space kick, like “wowww the universe is so big i cant even imagine/ it would be awfully lonely if we really were alone in this huge expanse :(“- so i really love the idea of how across this vastness, they found one another.
