Headcanon prereform Vulcans: This pic is a while after my first pic in the universe when Jim has gone native and has been accepted into the Spock clan (I don’t have a good name for Spock’s clan yet… urk). Spock and Jim have already bonded when this pic takes place, and many of Jim’s scars are from their first Pon Farr (just so you know). Jim is also getting to be kind of tanned now, because he’s a poor human living on a desert planet. Under a strong sun. His skin had no chance.

Gold is the color of command on Vulcan, and no one except for the command gets to wear it, that’s why Spock is in silver in this pic. Only the female leaders of the clans get to wear it, and Kirk of course because Amanda think they need to stick together as the only humans and… Jim is also accepted as the leader after he’s shown his abilities (and even Spock is surprised by many of them). Jim might be a nerd and not the most manly of men, but he’s smart (and smarter than even some of the vulcans). And the Spock clan understands they need him.

I’ve drawn the Vulcan IDIC badge on Jim’s belt, because in my universe the Vulcans have already discovered the knowledge of Surak, but instead of going the “emotional suppress” route they incorporated it into their more “emotional” way of life. They still believe in many of Surak’s teachings, as the IDIC and the more pacifistic way of life, but they chose to feel. And while they are restrained in how they show their feelings, they still have them and show them when they deem it necessary and/or appropriate. And if they decide to become the Vulcans as we know them today this is still early in their process of development, and in a couple of hundred years maybe they will change… or not.

The Vulcans don’t believe in weapons as we know them (knives and swords and the like), because they are more in to hand to hand combat – and maybe a bit of lirpa and ahn-woon – because they have the strenght and the ability to render most enemies helpless with their bare hands. Why should they use something as undignified as a weapon, when their hands are lethal. I mean, come on, they can send a shock-wave through our nervous-system to render us helpless and unconscious. Dude, that’s bad ass enough as it is. I believe they think it’s logical to use the gift they have been given, and are therefore trained from children to use all their telepathic abilities and their bodies to their fullest.

They also believe in comfort before beauty, and therefore I have drawn Spock in very light clothing in two pictures now, with nothing on his upper body to make it easier to move and because it’s damn hot on Vulcan. Jim adopts this way of thinking, and therefore Jim stops dressing in his own clothes and starts stealing Spock’s lighter and more comfortable clothes.

AH! I love this universe so much. I will continue to write and draw stuff in it. Next I think I will draw Amanda and Sarek. And then maybe Jim and Amanda in their command gear, and then Sarek and Spock, and then… AHH! So many ideas, and so little time. *pout* ;D

So, today I bought this book Star Trek: The Motion Picture and I’m seriously not disappointed. I mean, it’s so super gay and surpridingly romantic, like, the bond between Spock and Kirk spreads across the whole universe like a massive rainbow full of unicorns - I seriously can’t (I’m in the middle of the book and I squealed so many times I have to finish it tomorrow).

Let’s have some fanart now.
