the best part about spock is that he’s all of these things, all of them at once. wise ambassador; stoic first officer; wild hunter; fighter in the koon-ut-kal-if-fee; often lonely, but never alone, as the many facets of his self are always with him, dressing and undressing, warring with one another and living with one another, a child of two worlds with more sides than simply the dark and the light.

Imagine Spock's internal emotional self at first is like his mom, her thinking processes and sayings until he meets Bones. Suddenly every time he thinks emotionally, it's basically Bones with all his crazy sayings until one day his internal emotional thought in his mind is actually being spoken out loud from Bones' mouth at the same time. (My first imagines!)

Imagine Spock meeting some JERK of an ambassador on the bridge, (think Donald Trump in space) and just counting on the fact that soon Bones will be there too, and he will SAY everything Spock is thinking.
I want to talk about this scene, though. Jim being gentle and caring is distracting, I grant you, but that’s not why it’s important.
Since the ship went down Jim has been holding up pretty well. Set a trap for the alien who lured them there, found Scotty, found the Franklin etc. action-action-action.
The moment Spock gets there, Jim literally goes like: ‘But we lost everything, no ship, no crew, no hope, what do we do, Spock?’
And he’s not asking for practical ideas so much (although that, too, of course), but rather lets himself admit for the first time that things have gone to hell and he’s scared, too, because surprise - he’s still human. He’s looking for moral support, more than anything, and the only person he lets himself turn to for that is Spock.
SPOCK IS THE ONLY PERSON WHOM JIM TRUSTS TO SEE HIM FALL APART AND TO PUT HIM BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.
And Spock KNOWS it. He doesn’t respond with a plan of action, he says, ‘We’ll do what we’ve always done, Jim.’ He’s offering his faith and conviction that they will get through this together. And it’s so much more valuable than a junior officer’s blind belief that his captain is god, because Spock knows exactly how screwed they are and how Jim can’t actually perform miracles.
Scotty’s and especially Bones’ looks in that scene are very telling, too. Bones doesn’t even start treating Spock until the moment is broken, because he knows that Kirk needs this in order to function. Jim actually says that: ‘That’s what I need you for, Spock.’
And it’s so reminiscent of that time in TOS when Kirk told Spock that Spock was his source of emotional security that I can’t even.

Once upon a time, there was a Human…
…and an alien.
The alien was something of an outcast among his people, and because of that, he was lonely–even if he wouldn’t admit it.Then, he met the Human, who didn’t care that he was an outcast. Soon, they became friends.
They became very good friends.
