i bet bones (once he checked up on spock 72 times and made sure he was ok) legit paraded around yorktown telling everyone he heard spock laugh like he won a medal or something
like in lieu of a greeting he’d just be like, “yeah. our pointy-eared friend? he CHUCKLED. in front of ME.”
and i bet jim was SO jealous he missed that moment, like FUMING jealous, and bones taunts him about it all the time
but the best is when spock pisses him off, bones now has collateral. he has BLACKMAIL
“doctor, i strongly disagree with y–”
“THROATY.”
“…i beg your pardon?”
“YOUR LAUGH IS THROATY.”
and then spock just kind of slinks away and bones gets another couple of days of hobgoblin-free peace until he has to repeat the process again
