I often wonder if/how Amanda and Spock found out about Elizabeth-T’Les. Whether one day T’Pol gave in to Amanda’s persistent question of why she was so willing to help Spock and told them.
Or whether it was only after T’Pol died that Spock played the holograph pendant she had left him and found Paxton’s release about the human-vulcan child he had created, along with every clip of her daughter from the security feed that T’Pol had been able to find.
And suddenly they both understand why T’Pol outright offered to be Spock’s en'ahr'at , to babysit Spock whenever needed. Why her door was always open for him, why she wouldn’t stand for anyone being mean about him… Why she had stood with Sarek and Amanda to argue the logic that they should be allowed to try for a child.
Because he was as close as she could get to the child she had lost
