Just a soul crushing reminder

that from Earth the planet Vulcan would be seen passing in front of its star for up to 16 years after its destruction in the Alternate Universe.

Do you think Spock ever looks up at that twinkling light and remembers what was happening at the exact moment that light left Vulcan? Does he ever look at it and remember his mother laughing, or maybe the last time he let her hug him?

Oh my god. That is devastating.

Its Wednesday, which means its new comic books day and time for another Star Trek comics Wednesday.

Today I’m focusing on my very favourite of all Star Trek comics - Spock Reflections.

This short 4 issue series, best enjoyed in a bundled version which can be picked up most easily digitally from Comixology or Amazon, is truly made of feels from cover to cover. I’ve read this more than any other comic book over the past few years. It. Is. Outstanding.

Told in a series of vignettes of flashbacks as Spock travels from Romulus, accompanied by a loquacious Saurian, for a purpose which is revealed as the story progresses, Spock Reflections touches on many of the significant relationships the heroic half-Vulcan has experienced. Sarek, Amanda, Christopher Pike, T’Pring, Picard and, of course, James T. Kirk all make appearances in the tale.

I’ll try and stay as spoiler free as possible on this, as it really is such a good read that’ll hit you right in the feels if you’re in any way a Spock fan. David & Scott Tipton have outdone themselves, go read it today!
