first officer spock’s personal log, stardate 4523.3. the captain’s behaviour continues to be perplexing to me. he seems to respond in a positive but bizarre manner whenever I perform feats of physical strength, especially if they are in the service of maintaining his well-being. this is the third time he has pretended to “swoon” in response to me aiding him. doctor mccoy, as usual, offers no insight but proceeded to consume a large amount of alcohol and rudely dismiss me when I tried to bring the matter up in conversation with him. will this mystery ever produce a viable conclusion? unknown. further study is needed. spock out.
